First I take a 30-40 minute Taoist Longevity Walk (Qigong Walking) on the beach, breathing in the mist created by the wave action. I align my bones to relax my body, allowing tension to release and expand the soft tissue; Bones up, Muscles down.
Then I allow my arms to naturally swing from the stretch and release created from the opposing motion of my hips and shoulders, resulting in a slight twisting at the middle of my spine (ala cross country skiing, but much more subtle).
After the Qigong Walk, I spend a few minutes in Standing Meditation and connect to nature, then I proceed to practice. Lately I've been doing rounds of The 21 Qigong. Wonderful set for opening the joints and connecting fascia and it just feels good;^)
Other times I do a 'round' of T'ai Chi Ch'uan or Bagua Zhang or single movement practice. Other times just more Standing Meditation.
I hope you are enjoying your practice (s).....
