The Details:
It's 50 at the house and it's sunny. Yay!
I just heard from my sister that my Mom was hospitalized last night and admitted for pneumonia and sepsis. Oy Vey! Fingers crossed, we are scheduled to leave for Spain this coming Saturday, the timing is unfortunate, to say the least. Hmmmm! What to do? I guess it's a wait and see kind of thing?
The Practice:
I started by reading "Li Po and The Moon" while reflecting on life and all of its ups and downs. In general reading the poems in Evidence is contributing favorably to my ongoing development of a profound appreciation of nature and life itself.
Next I went out to the Driveway and did a round of Taiji Single Dao Form using my metal broadsword. I focused on sequence and the timing of my stance and strikes.
Next I used my wooden Bokken to do all 4 Modern Arnis Cane Anyo on both sides. I stayed focused on correct sequence, direction of postures and using a light body during the progressive stepping sequences.
Next I used my wooden Bokken to do a round of Taiji Cane Form (right side) focused on the quality of my postures and shoulder health during the 'round the head' sequences.
Next I did Taiji Cane Form Basics with the Cane in my left hand, focused on hand and arm strengthening.
Next I did a Round (left side) reciting the Taiji Classics during Parts I & II. I also focused on consistency of practice. "Filling the bucket, one drop (a day) at a time"
Next I did a full round of Yin Style Baguazhang's 8 Linking Palms Form (on both sides) focused on hip flexor health during the kick ups and agility and mobility throughout the form.
Next I did a round of Anyo Apat tuned into applications and light body during the progressive steps.
Next I did a round of Kusanku Kata tuned into agility, mobility and leg strength and flexibility during the Zen Dachi Squats.
I finished with Healing Qigong and returning to the house to journal my practice in this blog.
