I was very happy to be able to practice outside this morning.
It's important to be able to have a good indoor practice spot, in case of cold, rainy, windy weather. But it's much better to be able to practice outside in a natural setting. It's best to seek out a spot that resonates with you. With that having been said, some days you just have to settle for what is available. I find long travel days particularly challenging.
This morning I spent a bit of time re-reading a few passages from Paul Gallagher's book Drawing Silk.
This is what resonated with me this morning. It's from the Second Classic attributed to Wang Zong Yue:
"Tai Chi is evolved from Wu Ji"
"In movement it differentiates, in tranquility it fuses into one"
"Without long and arduous practice, one cannot hope to reach ultimate understanding."
I hope you're enjoying your practice!
