The Details:
It was 68 at the house. The sunrise was at 7:33. The high tide was at 7:37.
Notes:
Genna and Ali are leaving in the mid to late afternoon today. I got caught in heavy rain during my late afternoon beach walk. I was at the furthest most point south of 27th Ave when the sky opened up. I got soaked from head to toe.
The beach replenishing project has finally moved past the 27th Ave ramp. Yay!
The Practice:
I got down the beach just after sunrise. The beach was way too busy to practice close to the water; The tide was high and all the beach walkers were down by the waters edge. Rather than deal with the inconsiderate walkers I dediced to practice in the softer sand on the western side of the Big Pipe.
I started with a round of Taiji Cane (both sides) I got 3/4 of the way through the left side before the beach distraction made it impossible to concentrate.
Next I did a round of Taiji Jian and realized I was confusing Taiji Jian with Taiji Dao. Oy Vey! I finally got things on track and completed a round of Taiji Jian. I silently recited the names of the postures where I could. I have to admit that getting confused between the forms made it difficult to remain equanimous. I tuned into the correct sequence of postures and maintaining mental focus and equanimity.
Next I did a brief Warm Up using the first few of The 10 focused on Soong
Next I did a Round (left side) tuned into Relaxed Balance and Whole Body Coordination.
Next I did a brief Standing Meditation and Healing Qigong.
Next I did a round of Yin Style Baguazhang 8 Linking Palms Changes 5-8 (both sides). I focused on #6, Walking the Circle and Turning to the Rear (mobility).
Next I did a round of Anyo Tatlo tuned into the Rotation of Forms. I'm counting on today being Day #3.
Next I did a round of Seiunchin Kata focused on using quality basics and stance work.
I returned to the house to eat breakfast and journal today's practices.
