Friday Practice - Day #4 in the rotation - Taiji Staff Day

The Details:

It's 50 at the house. It rained overnight and it's not done yet. Today is our last day in Leyden this season. I've got lots and lots of chores, packing and generally leaving the farm in good shape for next season.

The Practice:

Once I tore myself away from packing and chores I went out on The Deck and started with a full round of the original 10 Exercises. I focused on consistency and overall health.

Next I did a Round (left side) reciting the Taiji Classics during Parts I & II. I remained focused on using my waist as the controlling axis and moving slow and smooth.

Slow is Smooth,

Smooth is Fast

Next I did a round of Cheng style Baguazhang 8 Animal (Mother) Palms Changes 1-4 (both sides) tuned into using the correct sequence and imitating the animal of that particular Palm.

Next I did a round of Anyo Apat focused on sequence and the overall quality of my basic punches and kicks.

Next I did a round of Wansu Kata tuned into the timing of Shuffle and Strike.

Next I did a round of Taiji Staff (right side) focused on Stance work.

Next I did a round of Taiji Staff (left side) tuned into the sequence. I'm noticing the improvement in memorizing the sequence on the left side.

I finished with Healing Qigong and returning to the house to journal today's practices.

FYI - I'll be traveling the next three day's so I suspect that I'll need to postpone my journaling until we arrive in NSB. I'll keep up my daily Rounds and a bit more if I have the time. Frankly I'm not looking forward to driving down I95....Oy Vey!
